The last couple of months have been so stressful, deciding to come back to Canada, worrying about jobs, dealing with international stuff, so, i want to take a few minutes, and think of 10 things that make me happy :)  I’m not including my family and friends, because those things go without saying. 

1. Flowers.  I LOVE flowers.  I love to see them, smell them, receive them, give them, eat them (is it possible?), wear them, buy things with flowers on them, touch them. BUT I have absolutely not talent to grow them!  

2. Rainy days.  Maybe I got some wires crossed a long time ago or something.  But I LOVE rainy days.  I love gloomy, cloudy, dark, rainy days.  If I wake up in the morning, and it already looks like evening, I’m over the moon.  When I was little, the most exciting phrase I heard was “save it for a rainy day”. Not sure why?

3. Waiting for mail. That super exciting feeling of knowing that you will receive mail!  A box, a letter, an email, a txt.  Anything! Also, I like to see stacks of mail. I like the post office, it makes me really happy there.

4. Forms.  I have an unnatural love for filling out forms. I love them.  I get excited when I know something will happen soon that involves forms.  Renewing passport? CHECK! forms!  140 page application for husband’s permanent residency? Yes. A WHOLE lot of forms.  

5. Office supplies.  Being surrounded by office supplies fills me with excitement and anticipation!  Are there going to be any pink paperclips?   What kind of erasers are there?  Are there any of those white circle things that no one ever has, but that you can use around the holes on looseleaf?  (My best friend in high school is the only person I have ever met, who always had a supply of those things).

6. Baby animals. I know pet stores are bad, but I just can’t resist those cute little animals as we pass buy them. AHHHH. So cute.  But not just pet stores.  On the street, at the market, at a shelter, on someone’s facebook account, with a stranger on the bus. Ahhh… baby animals.

7. Winning a contest.  This doesn’t have to be because of a particular skill.  It can be random. I just LOVE winning a contest! Unfortunately I’m an unlucky person, but my husband seems to be lucky! He’s always winning some kind of contest.  I think he uses our unique situation to win things. “my wife is canadian, and she’s so homesick, so i would like to win 50$ gift card to make her happy”.  ”my wife is canadian and she’s so homesick, so I would like to win a new english book to make her happy”.  ”my wife is canadian and she’s so homesick, so i would like to win a vacuum cleaner to make her happy”.  It’s been working quite well this year.

8. Pictures of homes. I LOVE seeing pictures/actually seeing homes.  I like looking at pictures of apartments, houses, renovations, etc.  The most exciting thing my husband can do for me, is take me to look at a model house. Wow! Makes my month.

9. Pink things.  Pink things, just, make me happy.  There’s a store in Korea called “etude house” it’s cosmetics and things, and the WHOLE store is pink. Even the girls are dressed in pink.  I want to open this store in Canada, just so I can be in there all day.

10. Before and afters.  I’m a real sucker for a good make over.  I’m easy to please since I don’t even care what is being made over. I just LOVE before and afters.  House, hair, desk, pet, cup, box. Whatever. I loooove makeovers.
