Maple Walnut Pie~ with love <3
My husband’s absolute favorite desserts are pecan and walnut pie (actually I don’t think he knows the difference between the two). He’s had a stressful couple of days, and since he’s gone to play soccer for the afternoon, I decided to figure out how to acutally MAKE a walnut pie, and surprise him! yay~!!
First you have to make the crust (don’t cook it, just get it ready in the pie pan)
I used a new recipe this time.
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions.
- Place all ingredients in 9 inch pie pan. Stir together with fork. Pat mixture into bottom and up the sides of the pan. Poke holes in bottom and side of crust.
Now once you have the pie crust made, onto the filling~!
Maple and walnut are heavenly together, especially with whipped cream!
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose unbleached flour
- 1-1/4 cups pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- OPTIONAL 1 cup of coconut
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, brown sugar, flour, maple syrup, and butter. Stir in the nuts. Pour into the pie shell.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a tester inserted near the center of the pie comes out clean. Serve warm or completely cooled.
