Cloth Diapering~ really?
Well, we have made the decision to try cloth diapering with our baby. My due date is 5 days away, and I think we are pretty prepared! When we first started thinking about cloth diapering, it was so overwhelming that we almost gave up before we started. We searched diaper shops, talked to local moms who cloth diaper, researched blogs, and thought about it until our heads were spinning. We’ve developed a great beginning stash, and are ready to jump in! We’ve decided that we will begin with using disposables for that first sticky black poo, and still occasionally use some disposables for going out, etc, since we also have a large stash of these diapers (thanks to my husband’s couponing skills!)
What began with purchasing a lot of Mother Ease Diapers from Kijiji. A girl had bought them for her baby but gave up after a month. We saved 100$ by buying these used, in EXCELLENT condition :) The set included 24 one size snap closure diapers, 24 inserts, diaper liners, 8 diaper covers, and 7 toddler size Kushies Ultra all in ones.

We decided to buy two brand new expensive diapers, to try them out. I was so excited about cloth diapering, I allowed myself this luxury! We went with Kissaluvs Marvel All-in-one One Size diapers. They seem like the easiest and most convenient of all of the cloth diapers I have researched. They were the only AIO and one size, that seemed and seemed to be relatively pain free :) We bought these on amazon.com, one green and one pink. Both the Marvels and the Mother Ease diapers can be adjusted from infant to toddler size, so we won’t have to buy more diapers as the baby grows.

We decided today to add 6 more diapers to the stash. After lots more research, we’ve decided on the Fuzzibunz One Size Pocket Diapers. There is a sale right now that will allow you one free diaper for every 5 diapers you purchase. We will buy 5 and receive the free one, by mail in rebate. Yay~!
Now, as for taking care of the diapers. We have pre-washed all of the diapers using Nature Clean detergent. We have bought Bac-Out spray to spray the dirty diapers to dislodge stains, and kill bacteria. We will add tea tree oil to the wet bag to kill germs and presoak. Finally, we will be using Kissaluvs Diaper Lotion Potion to spray baby’s bottom to help prevent diaper rash, and kill bacteria, sooth the skin.

Lastly! How will we store the stinky diapers??? Well we bought a big hanging wet bag from planet wise. We can store the stinky diapers for a couple of days until we do the laundry. We also have flushable diaper liners that we plan to use in the diapers to contain some of the mess.

WE CAN DO IT!!!!!
